Our links with industry in Wales, the UK and overseas mean that our teaching is informed by actual practice, and our modules are regularly updated to reflect real-life trends. We work closely with employers to ensure that what you learn meets the demanding requirements of today’s workplace. You will have the skills you need to get ahead of the competition and knowledge that is relevant to the world of work.

World-class research

With over nine decades’ experience in education, we have evolved into a university with an outstanding reputation for teaching and learning. Our Faculties are filled with staff who are actively involved in research, so you will be taught by lecturers who are national and international experts in their fields.

We performed very well in the latest Research Assessment Exercise, which evaluates the quality of university research in the UK. Such groundbreaking research ensures that our courses contain the latest thinking and developments, giving an added distinction to your university education.

Work experience that counts

Learning is not just about books and theories – work experience is a crucial part of your education and preparation for your graduate career. At Glamorgan, we make sure that you have every opportunity to experience the workplace and put what you learn into practice. Not only will you learn directly from industry professionals, but the experience you will gain is likely to impress your tutors and improve your final year grades. From projects based on real-life cases to year-long sandwich placements in industry, there are plenty of ways for you to get the experience you need to stand out from the crowd.

Professional seal of approval

Many courses at the University have been accredited by professional bodies, which means they can earn you exemptions from professional examinations. Our BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering courses, for example, are accredited by the JBM (Joint Board of Moderators) which represents all the major professional institutions in the civil engineering industry. Glamorgan’s Faculties have also been recognised for their excellence and expertise, and we deliver courses on behalf of many professional bodies.

Outstanding facilities

There have been bold and innovative changes at Glamorgan over the last few years. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are undergoing a £130m investment programme to ensure you get the best possible learning experience.

The latest developments include accommodation blocks, a major expansion for health, sport and science students at our Glyntaff campus, world class sports facilities at Glamorgan Sport Park and a contemporary Students’ Union complex at Treforest.
