The Partnership Scheme

The Partnership Scheme

The Partnership scheme involves building relationships between schools, students, parents and the University of Glamorgan in order to make the step into Higher Education easier.

The scheme aims to raise awareness of Higher Education opportunities and encourage students, particularly from non-traditional backgrounds, to aspire to University through building close relationships with a selected number of Partner schools.

Partner schools

The University of Glamorgan works closely with each Partner school to provide a range of advisory, logistical and financial support to inspire their year 12 and 13 students to aim for university. This provision includes opportunities to attend a number of events such as Higher Education talks, A level subject master classes and conferences, UCAS application sessions, sixth form inductions and access to Glamorgan’s facilities; all designed to provide student’s with a positive experience of university and support their learning experiences.

Partnership Reward Fund

Through the Partnership Reward Fund, Partner schools have the opportunity to bid for funding for projects or initiatives that encourage their year 12 students to aspire towards university. For example:

Inspiring students to study for a career in media and journalism, by giving them the opportunity to tour a television studio and gain hands-on experience through media workshops delivered by our ATRiuM academics.

The Partnership Reward Fund provides students with a taste of university life through a VIP visit to the University of Glamorgan Open day offering a variety of fun, interactive workshops and an overnight stay in our Halls of Residence. Additionally it offers the financial and logistical support to bring Partner Schools’ creative ideas into reality.
