The European & External Resource Office (EuRO) supports the University to access and secure European and other external sources of funding to achieve its overall strategic objectives. The office acts as an interface between the University and project partners, Funding Agencies, European Institutions and a multitude of regional and European networks, such as WHEELO and WHEB.
EuRO is a central support function to all staff across all Faculties and departments providing dedicated expertise throughout the whole project lifecycle to:
EuRO also carries out regular training and awareness raising events on specific funding opportunities in line with University strategic priorities and areas of excellence. This includes arranging for key external speakers to visit the University.
There are hundreds of different European and external funding streams each with their own set of rules and regulations. European funding opportunities span a host of policy and sector areas of interest from research and innovation, transnational collaboration and knowledge exchange to capital funding for buildings and infrastructure. The EuRO department also recently secured £50m ESF Convergence funding to manage, on behalf of the Welsh HE sector, two large training and education programmes which are aimed at engaging with employers to up skill the Welsh workforce.
