Glamorgan Alumni Association – this is not goodbye!
Although you may be bidding a fond ‘farewell’ to the University, today marks the start of a life-long connection to the institution through your Alumni Association.
Membership of the Glamorgan Alumni Association is free and connects you to an expanding network of over 70,000 alumni from all over the world. By keeping in touch with Glamorgan, you can update us on your future successes and inspire Glamorgan graduates of the future. Centenary Celebrations
In 2013, the University of Glamorgan celebrates its very important centenary year. To mark the occasion we are planning a range of events, including guest lectures, networking opportunities and a gala dinner. As an alumnus of Glamorgan, you will be the first to hear of any centenary events and opportunities.
Careers Service
As a past student of Glamorgan you can continue to enjoy access to the Careers and Employability service and get individual advice on career planning and practical job search tips. You can arrange to see a Careers Adviser for a face-to-face appointment, by phone or via their email guidance system. You will also have access to the latest professional and graduate-level jobs.
GO Wales
Graduates can gain real, relevant work experience through GO Wales. This initiative offers a huge variety of paid work placements that allow you to work on challenging projects lasting approximately 10 weeks. We work with companies across Wales to develop suitable positions, which we post on our website. As well as earning a minimum of £250 per week, over 65% of placements turn into full-time jobs.
Further study opportunities
If you enjoyed your time at Glamorgan, one day you might wish to return to us. Thousands of past students come back to Glamorgan either for short courses or further postgraduate study. As a member of the Alumni Association, you will receive updates on relevant study opportunities or possible scholarships.
Giving back
Employability is at the heart of everything we do. We may invite you back to the University to speak about your experiences of Glamorgan and raise aspirations amongst students to achieve their career goals. Many of our alumni have fond memories of Glamorgan and are extremely keen to ‘give back’ to their fellow students in this way.
